The CNA Medical Registered Nurse performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instruction for and coordinating activities of the Medical Administrative Assistant (MAA) program.
The C.N.A Instructor is responsible for the development and implementation of the Job Corps Health Occupation Trades Program Levels 2 and 3 and phase 2 and 3 using Job Corps and Center developed curriculum. Manages and conducts vocational training in classroom/clinical setting.
Minimum: Must be a Registered Nurse with valid nursing license in State of California. Must possess the certification of Director of Staff Development. Must have worked as a Registered Nurse full time for a minimum of two years. Currently holds a National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) certification and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications; possesses practical experience in the subject/training area; must have the ability to transfer topical knowledge to meet specific learning objectives; extensive practical knowledge of Healthcare careers and field.
Preferred: California Career Technical Training or Adult Education Teaching Credential; teaching or training experience within the Healthcare field.
General Information: In order to perform the essential job functions of this position, candidate must be able to compose/write descriptive reports; use appropriate techniques to create, deliver, and implement programmatic activities; verbally direct individuals and groups; model and monitor expected behaviors; practice intervention techniques; successfully complete mandated training courses.
Knowledge Required: Knowledge of current National Healthcareer Association certification requirements and medical terminology, concepts, procedures, and calculations. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Knowledge of effective instructional and training strategies needed to impart knowledge and instill appropriate behaviors and work habits in young adult students. Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate and execute instructions or directives fluently in English.
