Responsibilities

 OVERVIEW: The Medical Administration Instructor performs as an instructor in a Career Technical Training classroom setting, presenting instructions in designated subject areas, including: Medical Office administration office procedures, medical terminology, and basic medical assisting procedures.

 

MAJOR ACTIVITIES PERFORMED:

  1. Maintains confidentiality, but reports significant events or situations immediately through approved channels to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff, and to ensure that required reporting occurs, and that students receive emergency services as needed.
  2. Complete Evaluations of Student Program (ESP’s) in a timely manner for students in assigned areas and may participate in evaluation panels. Provides other behavior and progress assessments as requested.
  3. Responsible for instructing students in the Medical Administration career trade.
  4. Responsible for the maintenance of student personnel folders.
  5. Records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area.
  6. Assists in the completion of all necessary Job Corps forms.
  7. Accountable for the cleanliness of classrooms.
  8. Responsible for reports required by the Manager such as student/staff hours.
  9. Attends required training.
  10. Perform all similar and incidental duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum:

Certified, licensed, or accredited in the state in which the center is located, or is accredited by a professional trade organization. Must have the ability to transfer topical knowledge to meet specific learning objectives. High school graduate or equivalent. Two years related experience to include exposure to record keeping, data entry, etc.

 

Preferred: Extensive practical knowledge of trade and teaching experience.

 

Knowledge Required: Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate behavior as well as work and study habits in adolescent students; of housekeeping techniques and management; to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate and execute instructions or directives fluently in English.
