The Recreation Specialist directs trainees in leisure-time recreation/non-vocational activities and leadership programs

The Outreach and Admissions Manager manages the recruitment of young adults (16-24) for the Job Corps program. Ensures that outreach, recruitment, commitment, and other established goals per the Department of Labor contract are met.
- Manages the recruitment and interviewing of young adults for the Job Corps program
- Ensures that assigned centers maintains 100% OBS with eligible and committed applicants
- Manages the determination of applicants’ eligibility to participate in Job Corps based on eligibility guidelines established by the Department of Labor.
- Ensures each applicant is provided with realistic and accurate information regarding the Job Corps program including the enrollment process, life on center, behavioral expectations, career technical training offerings, services, disability and reasonable accommodations, equal employment opportunity, and program requirements.
- Coordinates positive working relationships with Workforce Development partners, schools, and community organizations to promote the Job Corps program and to develop referral sources of eligible youth who could benefit from participation in Job Corps.
- Conducts interviews for prospective new employees, conducts initial staff training, conducts performance evaluations.
- Participates in community outreach activities for positive promotion of and recruitment for the Job Corps program.
- Works with center Records and Career Preparation staff to assign and onboard new students to the program.
- Works with center staff and follows up on enrolled students to support retention and student success in the program.
- Supervises and assesses Outreach and Admissions staff. Ensures that all staff meet monthly goals.
- Audits and ensures quality assurance of all applicable documentation. Ensures that all required documentation on new applicants is obtained and maintained.
- Creates and maintains an Outreach calendar including all events and activities attended to recruit new students into the program.
- Schedules and oversees a weekly tour of the center and ensures that all interested individuals receive tours and information as needed or requested.
- Maintains all assigned property and conducts regular property inventories as needed.
- Trains staff and ensures that all assigned staff meet center training requirements.

The Outreach and Admissions Counselor conducts outreach activities with community partners to create referral partnerships that refer eligible applicants for enrollment in the Job Corps Program. Plans, manages and coordinates community relations activities.

- Establishes and develops meaningful relationships with members of the local community to keep them well informed about Job Corps training opportunities for qualified youth.

The Outreach and Admissions Clerk performs complex administrative tasks using a personal computer. Coordinates office services and administrative activities for Job Corps center; interprets operating policies and Core Values; exercises independent judgment in the resolution of administrative problems.Type business letters, memorandums, reports, charts, etc. on a personal computer.
- Responsible for various administrative tasks including but not limited to :Answering phones and directing calls, emails, scheduling, safe filing, reporting, note-taking, and more

The Career Preperation Manager manages counseling units to insure that needed counseling services are available.
- Provides on-going management and guidance to counselors in caseload management, case documentation and counseling techniques
- Establishes performance standards to evaluate counselors’ effectiveness and prepares Employee Development Plans to improve professional development
- Holds weekly case conferences, utilizing the services of the center Mental Health Consultant
- Insures that the counseling program is in accordance with Job Corps policy
- Acts as a resource leader and trainer for other staff in areas relating to counseling

The Accountant performs a variety of professional accounting duties such as monitoring various general ledger accounts, preparing and reviewing journal entries, etc
- Prepares journal entries for assigned accounts according to established schedule
- Maintains the Imprest Fund according to established policies and procedures
- Reviews trial balance to locate, identify and resolve all input and accounting errors
- Maintains center records, ledgers and journals as necessary to determine center financial status
- Transmits payroll hours to the Corporate Payroll Department. Reviews the payroll register upon receipt. Maintains all other data affecting the payroll
- Maintains Student Government Association checking account and reports
- Performs analysis of various general ledger accounts by reviewing entries, compiling and comparing transactions, determining and resolving open items, and interpreting trends and/or deviations. This includes occasional special analyses as required
- Trains bookkeeper in coding of accounts and inventory controls

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for the overall operation of the center Food Service function
- Supervises overall operation of the center food service component
- Plans, coordinates and develops procedures necessary to operate center dining facility effectively, efficiently and economically
- Plans and coordinates with Purchasing and Finance personnel the purchases of food and foodstuffs. Assists in preparation of departmental budget
- Maintains a complete inventory file on food and equipment.
- Maintains strict safety and sanitation codes and procedures

Residential Advisors provide a safe, supportive, and predictable environment in dormitory supervision of Job Corps trainees in their daily activities, monitoring their progress in attaining performance contract goals and objectives and utilizing behavior management and intentional and consistent Core Value driven practices. Conducts dormitory operations in accordance to Center operating policy and procedures and in accordance with CSD Operating Procedures.
- Assists students in adjusting to Center life by providing supervision, behavior modification, and acting as a mentor.
- Ensures that students meet required schedule, waking on time and being on time for work or school assignments.
- Ensures that students are adequately prepared for the training day;students are dressed appropriately, etc.
- Practices and models core values, as well as, conducts groups teaching and clarifying Core Values for students, with Case Manager assistance.
- Provides daily supervision or assistance in monitoring students in personal hygiene, room/chore assignments, special recreation activities, cafeteria monitoring, transportation and programmed activities.
- Provides informal counseling in relation to stress management, personal problems, emergency or home situations, etc., with students, and provides insight into responsible behaviors and attitudes.

The Security Officer is responsible for enforcing all laws, rules and policies authorized by the Safety and Security Department.

- Patrols assigned areas and remains alert for disturbances, fires, safety hazards, traffic violators, suspicious acts and/or persons, and other unusual conditions.
- Aids and assists visitors, students and staff.
- Performs building security and safety checks.
- Receives complaints and makes appropriate preliminary investigations.
- Provides escort service as directed.
- Investigates vehicular accidents at center.
- Issues visitor passes and temporary vehicle permits.
- Participates in the disciplinary process as established at the center, including zero tolerance for violence and drugs.

The Residential Counselor provides safe, supportive and predictable environment in dormitory supervision of Job Corps trainees in their daily activities, monitoring their progress in attaining performance contract goals and objectives and utilizing behavior management and intentional and consistent Core Value driven practices. Conducts dormitory operations in accordance to Center operating policy and procedures and in accordance with Career Systems Development Operating Procedures.
- Assists students in adjusting to Center life by providing supervision, behavior modification and acting as a role model and mentor.
- Ensures that students meet required schedule, waking up on time, and/or going to bed on time, ready to report to educational and training activities on time and or work assignments.
- Ensures that students are adequately prepared for the training day; students are dressed appropriately, in compliance with Center dress code, etc.
- Adheres to all PRH and CSDC policies and procedures, and the Center Operating Procedures.
- Practices and models Core Values, as well as, conducts small groups (which may include Guided Group Interaction), dorm meetings, reinforces and models Career Success Standards for students, acts as a member of the student’s case management team.
- Provides daily supervision or assistance in monitoring students in personal hygiene, room/chore assignments, special recreation activities, cafeteria monitoring, transportation as needed, and other scheduled program activities.

- Facilitates administration of all relevant and approved student certification testing for primary and secondary credential attainment.

- Assists in the completion of all necessary Job Corps forms and documents.
- Responsible for accountability of all equipment, supplies, and materials within classroom and under custodianship. Conducts quarterly inventory of classroom equipment and materials.

- Works in conjunction with the Career Transition Services Department to assist with the placement of all program students. Responsible for the direct placement of one student per month, evaluated on a quarterly basis, following program placement definitions and student career pathway plans.

The Career Transition Specialist is responsible for counseling students in all aspects of career transition readiness, job search skills, job placement issues, job retention, and Job Corps student exit processes. Responsible for identifying exited students who are no longer employed or in school and ensure a reconnection with another placement, school, or a Remote Career Transition Specialist.
- Conducts interviews with students entering the Career Transition Phase of CDSS. Provides re-orientation and further focus on job search techniques
- Creates and maintains a caseload of active student files, establishing a tickler system for caseload management, maintains bi-weekly or (at minimum) monthly contact through telephone correspondence
- Visits classrooms and trade shops to familiarize students with Career Transition processes, employability skills, career preparation, job search, job retention, etc. Familiarizes students with Advance Training, military, and job offers
- Coordinates mock interview sessions. Assists in the coordination of job fairs and career days
- Maintains linkages with military services, One Stop and other external resources, maintain job banks, secures and post job leads, set up job interview, arranges transportation assistance and other support services. Performs job development by screening leads from newspaper classifieds, telephone, and personal contacts, referrals, Internet, and other youth service organizations
- Ensures that all necessary licenses, certificates, transcripts and/or any pertinent document that will aid in job search are completed/obtained preferably prior to students’ exit
- Identifies support services needed for relocation, makes referrals to support services agencies. Develops and maintains a resource center for support services
- Serves as chairperson of the student’s Career Assessment Panel and submits appropriate reports
- Participates in individual or group counseling services in coordination with Social Development Department and Mental Health Consultant, as needed
- Upon learning of a lost placement, intensifies contact frequency and presents job offers to contacted students, reminds students of importance of job search and job retention. With ongoing contact and cooperation with Remote Career Transition Specialists, secures and arranges for potential job interviews for former enrollees
