The Maintenance/Logistics Supervisor position is responsible for the center maintenance/logistics function, which includes property and inventory control, transportation, and facilities maintenance.
- Responsible for the efficient operation of the center transportation system, including bus schedules, vehicle records and timely maintenance, and dispatching center vehicles as required
- Supervises the maintenance of accurate, current and complete records of all center property
- Examines, marks and records all equipment received, new or excess
- Completes necessary documentation to relieve center of responsibility for property stolen or determined to be in excess of the center’s needs
- Reviews purchase requisitions for equipment and supplies to ensure that authorized property requirement and inventory levels are not exceeded
- Ensures that all property received is delivered to the requester
- Coordinates the relocation of all center equipment and revises inventories accordingly
- Responsible for safeguarding all maintenance equipment and property
- Plans, assigns, directs and coordinates the work of maintenance personnel in all areas of the center relative to renovations, modification, maintenance, and new work requirements
The Human Resources Specialist Performs complex clerical tasks and human resources duties. May perform generalist duties in absence of Manager

- Enters employee information in computerized human resources system such as personal data compensation, benefits, training, attendance, merits, etc. Performs systems backup regularly
- Reviews employment applications for accuracy. Interviews non-exempt level applicants Prescreens applications for exempt candidates

- Establishes and maintains all employee personnel files and records
- Updates employee files to document personnel transactions and provides information to the Finance Department for payroll purposes
- Conducts reference checks as required
- Examines employee files to answer routine inquiries and provides information to authorized personnel.
- Types job postings, letters, reports, memorandums, performance appraisals etc
- Proofreads and corrects grammatical, spelling and punctuation errors
- Gathers and compiles data from personnel records and prepares required reports
- Establishes and maintains all EEO/AAP logs
- Publishes center staff newsletter
- May assist in the development of the center Affirmative Action Plan
The Health and Wellness Clerk is responsible for performing a wide range of clerical and other health services tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Types medical records and correspondence, patient charts, health services reports and letters, and other technical materials as necessary
- Enters data using a personal computer when necessary
- Screens and routes mail according to content
- Prepares medical files/charts for all new students.
- Maintains order of students within the wellness center
- Answers telephones, schedules both on center and off center appointments, distributes medical appointment cards and other miscellaneous clerical duties to include but not limited to filing and mail pick up and delivery,
- Provides customer service to staff and students entering the Wellness Center
- Maintains confidentiality of all student records.
- Maintains outside insurance for eligible students including Maine Care and other third party insurance companies. This includes but is not limited to applications, maintaining financial folders and documenting insurance information into Center Information System (CIS)
- Completes referrals to off center providers
- Follows through on student requests for medical information,
- Keeps accurate logs to be sent to the Regional/National/Corporate Offices as needed.
- Assists in educating students about Health Services
- Assists in ordering and restocking medical, clerical and other supplies as needed
- Coordinates with the Student Records Department to ensure that all departmental paperwork for passes and leaves is submitted in a timely manner
The Custodian/Groundskeeper is responsible for performing general maintenance duties throughout the center.

- Investigates vehicular accidents at center.
- Issues visitor passes and temporary vehicle permits.
- Participates in the disciplinary process as established at the center, including zero tolerance for violence and drugs.
Residential Advisors provide a safe, supportive, and predictable environment in dormitory supervision of Job Corps trainees in their daily activities, monitoring their progress in attaining performance contract goals and objectives and utilizing behavior management and intentional and consistent Core Value driven practices. Conducts dormitory operations in accordance to Center operating policy and procedures and in accordance with CSD Operating Procedures.
- Assists students in adjusting to Center life by providing supervision, behavior modification, and acting as a mentor.
- Ensures that students meet required schedule, waking on time and being on time for work or school assignments.
- Ensures that students are adequately prepared for the training day;students are dressed appropriately, etc.
- Practices and models core values, as well as, conducts groups teaching and clarifying Core Values for students, with Case Manager assistance.
- Provides daily supervision or assistance in monitoring students in personal hygiene, room/chore assignments, special recreation activities, cafeteria monitoring, transportation and programmed activities.
- Provides informal counseling in relation to stress management, personal problems, emergency or home situations, etc., with students, and provides insight into responsible behaviors and attitudes.
The C.N.A Instructor is responsible for the development and implementation of the Job Corps Health Occupation Trades Program Levels 2 and 3 and phase 2 and 3 using Job Corps and Center developed curriculum. Manages and conducts vocational training in classroom/clinical setting.

- Provides classroom and hands-on training experiences for students enrolled in the Health Occupation Trades program using actual demonstrations of appropriate health care.
- Teaches CPR/First Aid/AED

- Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting and at off center clinical sites in order to insure maximum learning

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for responding to general maintenance work orders throughout the center/academy.

- Mows lawns, maintains grounds, picks up trash and papers.

- Change light bulbs, replaces faculty electrical cords, etc.
- Adheres to all PRH, PAG, CDSS and CSDC policies and procedures, and the Center’s Operating Procedures.
- Ensures all equipment and facilities are clean and maintained in accordance with Center, CSD and DOL standards.
- Attends all training sessions and staff meetings as scheduled. Is CPR and First Aid Certifiable.
- Maintains a work environment of zero accident and injuries including no loss-time accidents.

The Licensed Vocational Nurse assists in the medical care and treatment of students.

- Sterilizes equipment and supplies. Follows infection control procedures. Documents all procedures, counseling and education provided to students.

The Outreach and Admissions Counselor conducts outreach activities with community partners to create referral partnerships that refer eligible applicants for enrollment in the Job Corps Program. Plans, manages and coordinates community relations activities.
- Understands, supports, and practices the Core Values in all aspects of job performance and interactions with staff and trainees.
- Establishes and develops meaningful relationships with members of the local community to keep them well informed about Job Corps training opportunities for qualified youth.
- Regularly makes presentations about Job Corps and eligibility requirements to community partners, schools, youth groups, etc.
- Develops MOUs with community partners to establish meaningful and productive referral partnerships to ensure a consistent flow of eligible applicants to Outreach and Admissions Counselors.
- Tracks and analyzes on an on-going basis the effectiveness and efficiency of outreach programs.
- Formulates plans, reports on linkages between the outreach and admissions contract and Department of Labor and various community agencies.
- Monitors social media and reviews and approves positive stories for posting.
- Develops public awareness materials such as newsletters, brochures, posters, etc. Develops marketing materials to reach targeted groups (i.e. young woman, underserved populations, etc.) to engage and encourage enrollment.
- Ensures the full utilization and distribution of Job Corps developed marketing materials
- May participate on community service boards and local workforce and training associations, etc.
- Provides referrals to support center Industry and Community Relations Councils.
- Attends in-service training sessions.
- Provides in-service training for departmental staff as required.

- Submits recommendations to the Academy Director for medical termination’s related to substance misuse and abuse in conjunction with the Mental Health Consultant, center physician, Health and Wellness Administrator, etc.
- Acts as liaison between center and agency resource and referral contacts.
- Monitors behavior and progress of students involved in the Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse Prevention/Intervention Program.

The TEAP Specialist is responsible for the design, development and coordination of the Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse Prevention/Intervention Program.
- Designs, develops and implements all programs related to substance use and abuse prevention and intervention in conjunction with the Mental Health Consultant, Counseling and Health Services staff, Center Physician and Center Director.
- Coordinates all programs designed to reduce and eliminate substance use and abuse.
- Works with Health and Wellness staff and Center Standards Office for the collection of drug test specimens, the documentation of results, and the consultation with students regarding results.
- Provides individual counseling for students regarding substance abuse and prevention, and healthy choices.
- Prepares and facilitates group sessions with students enrolled in the center’s TEAP program.
- Schedules and facilitates student activities related to the center’s TEAP program.
- Conducts weekly presentations for all new students regarding TEAP services, prevention, education, intervention, and Job Corps policies.
- Conducts regular presentations for all students participating in program areas and transitioning out of the Job Corps program on managing substance misuse, abuse, and dependency issues in the workplace.
- Develops and facilitates three annual center-wide substance use prevention and education activities.
- Conducts in-service training sessions with both staff and students in all areas related to substance use and abuse.
- Submits recommendations to the Center Director for medical separations related to substance misuse and abuse in conjunction with the Mental Health Consultant, center physician, and Health and Wellness Manager.
- Acts as liaison between the center and agency resources and referral contacts.
- Completes drug use risk assessments on all new intake students in conjunction with Mental Health Consultant and Counseling.
- Monitors behavior and progress of students involved in TEAP.
- Maintains confidential reports and records on all referrals and cases. Maintains all documentation of student results and group and activity participation.
- Complete pre-arrival phone calls to new applicants on an as needed basis.
- Prepares and submits appropriate reports as required.
- Facilitates Healthy Eating and Active Lifestyle (HEALS) groups in conjunction with Recreation and Health and Wellness Staff.
